CLASS OF 2018 VARSITY HIGHLIGHTS . . . .
The last couple of weeks have shown the raising of some upcoming young talent in this state: The class of 2018 have a couple of players that are setting the tone on their varsity squad at their high schools:
1.) Faith Academy's 2018 Lakhlian "Kylie" Rankins; you should remember her from her stellar performance in the 5A State Championship game this past season. Well, she has not slowed down this year; averaging over 15pts per game. Including this past Tuesday 12/10 having 18 points in her team's win over UMS-Wright which included 4(four) 3 pointers.
2.) Another 2018 that making an impact on her school's varsity squad; Coach JoVanka Ward and the Homewood HS Lady Patriot. The Lady Patriots have started the season off 10-0. Guard Hannah Barber is averaging over 12 points, 4 assists and 2 steals per game. These are two 2018 student-athletes that are having an impact on their high school's varsity squads.

Other 2018 that are making noise are Talladega's 6'3" Camilla Buckhanon, Springville's London Coleman, Minor's Alexis Hood, Pleasant Grove's Taylor Aikerson is averaging about 10 points per game and Huntsville's Kyla Whitehead. We are needing high school coaches and/or parents to help us with keeping the stats of these players and their teams updated.
Holiday Tournaments . . . . These are the following schedules that I have as of today, if your tournament is not on this list, please email me the brackets/schedule to denisejohnsonbasketball@gmail.com. We will also be listing PLAYERS TO WATCH FOR EACH TEAM IN EACH TOURNAMENT, provided this information is provided by the high school coaches.
